Bank Windhoek Kidz Fun Fair & Family Expo 2014
Media Release 2014
Namibia’s only trade fair that provides education, fun and entertainment to the entire family !!
The popular annual Bank Windhoek Kidz Fun Fair and Family Expo, Namibia’s only trade fair that provides education, fun and entertainment to the entire family, was launched today with the signing of an agreement between Bank Windhoek and Limelight Marketing & Events.
The Bank Windhoek Fun Fair and Family Expo, now in its sixth year, will take place on Friday, 31 October and Saturday, 1 November 2014. The organisers announced that the venue has been moved from the SKW Sport Grounds to the Doc Jubber Hockey Fields near the Independence Stadium in Windhoek, to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors and activities as well as provide ample car parking for visitors.
With the change of venue kids can expect to have even more fun with the popular sport activities at the Bank Windhoek Sports Zone, coordinated by well-known sport consultant, Quinton-Steele Botes. The Bank Windhoek Kidz Arts Zone, coordinated by the Potters Association of Namibia (PAN), will also continue to be featured at the new venue, where children will be introduced to the art of pottery making and have the opportunity of making their own ceramic works.
The Fun Fair and Family Expo also provides an opportunity for early Christmas shopping as some exhibitors will be selling unique and high quality crafts, jewellery and gifts.
In addition to the fun, education and entertainment on offer, each of the ten Bank Windhoek BizzKidz competition finalists will once again win an exhibition stand at the Fun Fair and Family Expo, where they will showcase their products and business skills. The best young entrepreneur will be announced on the last day of the Expo. Last year’s overall winners were Keanu da Silva (13) and Keyat da Silva (11) from Eldorado Secondary School and M H Greeff Primary School, who walked away with N$5000-00 and N$2500-00 for each of their schools. The two brothers sold work plans for children to do household chores to teach them to be responsible and at the same time earn pocket money for household chores done.
“Bank Windhoek is proud to have collaborated with Limelight Marketing & Events six years ago to establish the Bank Windhoek Kidz Fun Fair and Family Expo. The popularity of the Expo is an indication that such platforms are needed in Namibia where children and families can enjoy themselves with the variety of fun-filled activities. We can therefore safely say that the Bank Windhoek Kidz Fun Fair and Family Expo has now become a fixture on Namibian families’ events calendar. With the changing of the venue, this year’s Fun Fair and Family Expo will be bigger and better”, said Marlize Horn, Executive Officer: Marketing and Corporate Communication Services at Bank Windhoek.
“One of the challenges with the old venue was that the field and hall were so far apart from each other, now at the new venue we will have everything together in one location, which is a real benefit for the visitor and exhibitor. The idea this year is to expand the culinary section even more, where last year wine tastings and culinary delights were offered, as well as to create an organic section and Christmas market. So, many new things lined up for the Expo this year so be sure not to miss out”, said Gabriela Raith, Managing Director of Limelight Marketing & Events.
